Merry GREED FEST
WalMart worked stomped to death by customers rushing to get into the store for Black Friday.
“Here, honey, here’s all the toys you wanted. Now isn’t Mommy the greatest? See – I helped stomp a man to death to prove to you I loved you enough to buy you everything.”
Please. Leave me out of this world.
Friday Quote and update
Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.

As I fed the livestock this morning, a Great Blue Heron flew low and majestically over my head. I so rarely see my totem bird – a water bird, after all – here in the desert. It must mean something good is gonna come…
I’ve been busy this week. I have had to drop out of Nanowrimo. It was just too much on top of the preparations (including editing) going on to get “The River Way” ready for print. By the way – if you’d like to be notified by email when it is released, drop me a line and I can add you to the list!
Color-Your-Own.com has also been moved to the new host. Yes, I moved it before. The other new host was so frustrating to add one single page to that I chickened out and didn’t add any new coloring pages for months. That should be resolved now. I also set up a new Coloring Pages Blog that works better than the other one. The blidget still is not working – don’t know why – but you can always grab the RSS feed and keep up on the newest coloring pages as they are added. I’m hopefully going to be back on one coloring page a day – most days (even artists get a day off don’t they?) – starting later today. So go have a look! I’m actually looking forward to it – I like drawing coloring pages for you.
This morning I woke up all enthused for some reason and jumped into making a new Squidoo lens – Survival in these difficult times. It is a compilation of both positive thinking and thrifty living advice and resources to give you a hand in getting through this “economic crises” all the media is blathering on about. I have some ideas for a couple more lenses on this subject, and will try and get to them next week.
The winter blues have had me by the ankle – and the fear of being famous has had me by the other ankle. You wouldn’t believe that something that should make me so happy – getting my novel published – would also make me so depressed and freaked out. Knowing that it is silly irrational PTSD inspired fear doesn’t make it any easier to release. Well, okay – perhaps a little easier. I seem to be in motion again at last. Now that I have tackled some of the much needed web related work, perhaps I can face editing my own novel and doing the other work the publisher wants out of me – in the next two weeks!
I have been doing really well on my swaps at SwapBot. So this is what it feels like to mail things before the last minute
LOL. I’ve got some images to add to my little gallery of ATCs, too. I have some odd fixation that I don’t like to post them before I’ve mailed the ATCs – don’t ask me why. I’ll probably have a slide show of them tomorrow or later today on the blog. I just wanted to get a Friday post up on Friday for a change – so I set myself a deadline of noon.
Which I’m just barely going to make.

For today’s dose of misery
LOL – no – I kid with love. But I do love it when those Squidoo pages say “Make a lens in 60 seconds!”
Suuuuuure – so I just spent about four hours just updating Pets as Christmas Gifts, one of my oldest Squidoo lenses, yet one that I feel very strongly about. I also switched it to 100% charity – that is every penny that it makes from now on will go to the ASPCA. There’s also a donation button where you can donate directly to the ASPCA. There are animal charities I prefer, but that is my top choice out of the animal charities currently working with Squidoo.
It IS that time of year, when people are getting their Christmas shopping done – and kids are whining “I want a pony/puppy/kitty for Christmas”. Before you get suckered into buying one – please read the lens and consider all the possibilities and alternatives.
Now I’ve got to get up off my fat rump and go feed the animals who are depending on me…

Monday Dance and other foolishness
Woo woo – vintage strippers on video! And here I was actually looking for videos from the 1900s for inspiration for my Nanowrimo. Come to think of it, strippers and burlesque were perfect for inspiration for my Nano.
I haven’t quite decided what I’m doing with my day today. I do want to Nano for a while, and I’m thinking of doing some webby things – work on those blogs and so on. As well as maybe a new coloring page – I haven’t added one in ages. The thing is – I HATE the interface of the new host for Color-Your-Own. So I may just move it over to GatorHost today so I can face working on it. Sometime soon I need to get my Etsy store set up and more designs at Zazzle for the big Christmas whopee shopping spree folks. And I had a couple of ideas for new Squidoo lenses I think might do well, too. That’s me – lots of great ideas, minimal follow through. I ‘whelm myself.
Anyhow – I did want to at least get the dance up.

Quiet Sunday

I started the day out writing on the Nanowrimo project -1799 words – which brings me to about 18K. I don’t feel at all bad. I’m still behind but could quite possibly catch up with just one more 5K day. Today ain’t it, but it could happen – LOL.
I uploaded, downloaded, uploaded some new photos. The trees up there are one, some pictures I took of the spas in T or C, and a few ATCs. I’m probably most proud of these two – hand drawn and colored with mixed media:

I’m pretty much caught up on swaps until November 28th or so. I’m pretty proud of myself altogether today. I think I may work on the adult blog sites, get them set up the way I want them so I can start adding entries. Maybe color another of the ACEOs for Angel Acres, do a few ATCs, and in the main – piddle.
Have a good lazy Sunday.
One sad story, one happy story
And a total of 5116 words for the day for Nanowrimo. I’m officially exhausted. I’m going to go have a nice cup of hot chocolate. I might, just MAYBE go for a little more. If not – I’m still quite pleased.
