Sketchbook drawing #3

In: Update

12 Mar 2009

Dated August 17, 2006, this is a quick sketch of a fey who visited me that morning. I had been to the Cherokee museum in Talequah, OK just a few days before. Hubby and I had traveled there for a job interview for him. The job didn’t work out, but the museum was worth the trip. In their bookstore I saw a book titled, “The Cherokee Little Folk”. Given our situation, I didn’t feel I could spend the money to buy it. I’d love to get a copy someday though. So I was thinking about the Cherokee little people and who and what they might be like when…

The text reads: This is a Cherokee wee folk I met this morning. He came to look at me, hearing that I was curious about them. He is the first fey I’ve seen that was so different from human. Perhaps he is a shaman skin walker who spent too much time in animal shape and cannot change back or maybe he just mimics small rodents as so many fey mimic butterflies or dragonflies. He didn’t say, he owes me no explanation for his existance. He climbed right up on my thigh, lightfooted as a little deer, stood and looked at me curiously, and then vanished.
