No, I’m not dead. Just adjusting to having a full time work schedule again, some major changes in my living arrangements, and dealing with an illness in the family. Now and then when I have a spare moment, I even think about my old online business. I was surprised by a little check from the adult side this week, in fact. Which is amazing, considering I let the hosting expire and none of my adult sites are online at the moment – LOL. Gotta love it.
The other day I read that when the Internet first became available to regular mortals, the ONLY profitable Internet based businesses were adult oriented sites. How things have changed in the space of just a decade or two.
Once this living arrangement issue settles a bit, I plan to get some new coloring pages up. Meanwhile, I may also get my adult sites rehosted. And I do want to get Fre-ecards going again. Basically, I’ll be continuing the things I find to be fun to play with, and if they make me a buck – well, yay.
Now that I have my kayak here, chances are I won’t be spending a lot of time online that could be better spent on the water. What can I say? My priorities have changed.
You’re sure to see me from time to time on this blog. More musings than I’ve been doing for a long while. Updates on the business stuff. I’ll likely get blacklisted or blocked from a lot of things since I may as well keep you up on the adult side as well as mainstream. I can’t be bothered with the bullshit anymore. Stupid shit.
I pretty much don’t Twitter any more. I’ve got gobs of followers that are all just advertising themselves. Gone commercial as hell. Twitter = SPAM, so why would I bother? Haven’t been to Tagfoot in weeks. Just haven’t had the time to spare to surf around and it seems to have gotten rather SPAMMY, too. And don’t get me started on blogs. All the things they were so great for when blogging started and got big have now been buried under the “make money on the Internet” rage. Everyone wants to make money on their blog and are following all the same great suggestions for branding, being an expert, focusing on your field until blogs aren’t at all the “web log” of a human life but just advertising vehicles. *shrug* I’m well out of it, I think.
A small flock of barn swallows have taken up residence here at the ranch. I love to watch them dip and swoop after insects in the afternoon sun, their indigo blue backs flashing in the light contrasting with the warm glow of their peach colored breasts. After dark, at work, I love watching the nighthawks catching moths around the parking lot lights. I saw a Pronghorn dart across the road ahead of me a few days ago and yesterday or the day before, we stopped to admire the menacing magnificence of a big Mohave Rattlesnake, sprawled sunning on the road – from the safety of the car! These things are important. These memories are priceless.
Get up from your computer for a minute, and go experience life.
Blessedbe
