Merry Ostara!

‘Tis Ostara. I’ve done some deep housecleaning – and have another project or two I intend to complete.

Hubby is cooking up his first fritatta and boiling eggs so I can make us some deviled eggs. Although it is the first day of spring, I’m glad we didn’t plan anything for outdoors. “Brisk” is a mild word for the cold north wind blasting across the high desert today. The chickens have bravely ventured forth and are hunting and pecking. The horses and mule are lying down in the sun on the south side of the barn out of the wind. Puffy white clouds are strolling across blue sky in little groups like sheep grazing their way across a field.

Squidoo has a new toy for us giants – widgets for the right sidebar. I haven’t even looked to see what the Get Cracking Challenge is for the day. I just glanced at my wipeboard list of ongoing “todos” (large projects that need to be done in small bites) and felt quite too overwhelmed to go on. I am suffering from a nasty head cold that kept me in bed all day yesterday once we got home from the business in town.

So many things I could be doing. So few that appeal at the moment – LOL. I might go take a few bites out of one of the larger projects while I let the hubby start dinner. When he is out of the kitchen, I am going to go deep clean the tile floors. Yes, probably small bites of larger projects is the way to go today. Maybe later I’ll draw some clip art and/or coloring pages.

Cracking Up

One step forward, two steps back.

We got approved for Food Stamps. This is a big deal for me as I have a real hang up about not being able to feed everyone.

The fistula did not take. Whatever that means. We have to go see the surgeon again and “discuss alternatives”.

I got a job. I quit the job. It was an awful job – and I’ve had some awful jobs. The sexual harassment from my trainer did not help.

Seems like all we do is go to doctor’s appointments and various social offices, round and round and chasing our tails. Bleh.

But I do manage now and then to do a new Squidoo lens for the Get Cracking Challenge. You can see all the new lenses listed here. At this rate, I might find myself accidentally in the 100 club this quarter!

I did some updating at the Free Clipart Blog that I hope will make it easier to add new clip art and possibly get it indexed and make a bit more cash on it. I also switched to a new theme I really like :D

The rest of this evening will be spent (I hope) working on blogs.

That’s all I can think of at the moment. LOL. Blessedbe

Saturday Sketchbook

I happened to notice a few people doing #saturdaysketchbook on Twitter. If I can remember to do Follow Friday (and I usually do but some Fridays I am in town and away from the computer), and spend Music Monday at Blip.fm (I am trying to limit that since it seems to suck up our bandwidth here and then they shut us down to slower than dial up for the rest of the week – love you Wild Blue and your arcane BW limiting system that makes no sense to anyone including your operators) then I should be able to manage sketchbooksaturday. I can at least try. Easier for me right now than Daily Art, unless you count the fact that I am really trying to add about one coloring page per day (or do several in one day and sprinkle them out to you). Anyhow – here is what is in my sketchbook – see now and then I do something that would pass for fine art by hand.

Now, I am going to piddle with my widgets some and give you the RSS feeds to my short story and coloring page blogs which I have not done for some reason.

I am stripping every possible reference to the Anthony Morrison late night informercial AffilliatesSystem.us folks – they are scammers. Sorry. I got fucked out of my $20 investment, but at least I didn’t fall for their constant upsales. I’m sure they would say I failed because I did not pay someone $197 to sign me up for a Google Adsense account (I already have one, thanks), nor do I have a $5000 credit line to spend on ads that MIGHT make me $100 a month if I’m lucky. ROFLMAO. Thank goodness! The only person making money on this is Anthony Morrison and his cohorts.

Sigh. Live and learn. He’s got a GREAT scam. Instead of saying you will make bazillions on the Internet – which so many of us now know is not true – he says “well you might make a $100 or so, and wouldn’t that help if you are struggling to make the house payment?”. Sure it would – if I didn’t have to SPEND $500 to MAKE $100. ROFLMAO. That is assuming they even credit you with your sales (which they do not – or at least they skim them, something porn masters made into an artform).

Oh enjoy the artwork. I’m working on a little short story, then I’m going to go play SEO expert for a friend. I’ve got housework and some sewing on the menu, too. Taking Sunday off, I think, and Monday have a Dr.s appointment for hubby that will probably eat most of the day one way and another. So have a great weekend!

Oh – I hereby release the artwork above into the public domain. I’d rather not mess with the karma of theives who steal whatever they like – if I give it away no one can steal it.

Life is Good!

Life is good. Isn’t this beautiful? Scenes like this are why we won’t be moving to the city – and a big reason why we decided to live here in New Mexico.

Yesterday was a rainy day in the desert. We had to drive to the city and go from one Dr. to another all day for poor hubby. However, we did treat ourselves to a delicious east Indian dinner, too. And did a little shopping. Wow, I can’t believe it is already time for Valentine’s Day. Hubby and I have been married for twenty years – so Valentine’s Day isn’t necessarily that big a deal to us. Here’s our usual plan for the holiday.

However, I know other people do celebrate and so I’ll be drawing some Valentine’s Day coloring pages and writing a few blog articles about some of the fun goodies sold at my sex toy and video shop for the holiday.

My big exciting news for today is that I finally got everything worked out to sell the downloadable coloring books on PDF created from the coloring pages at Color-Your-Own.com. So you can go download all the birds, or all the horses at once – or the big coloring book which has all 360+ images in it. Then it’s on your harddrive – print it once, print it a hundred times, print it all, print just the coloring pages you want to use, and print your favorite coloring page as many times as you want. Yeah – I think Yes, it’s true, I think e coloring books are very cool.

I’m going to bore and torture everyone to death today promoting the new Coloring Book store because I get it free for a week, then have to decide if it is worth paying a monthly fee to keep.

Then I’ll draw some Valentine coloring pages. Really. I swear. (UCK)

When I’m not out taking awesome photos like this one:

And sharing them with my dear friend Robert Sloan so he can bring his awesome talent to recreate them as paintings.

Movies, coloring books, personal update

@Rivethead Rasta – one of my favorite Twitter pals – shared this link to the 20 Scifi Movies We’re Most Excited to see in 2010. I don’t know about you, but I think I’m just going to print it out and check them off as I get them ;)

I was even more excited, however, to see that they are making John Carter, Warlord of Mars into a movie. I am a serious Edgar Rice Burroughs fan, and although he is best known for Tarzan – my personal favorite of his series was John Carter of Mars. I am also a huge Pixar fan, and it does seem just too perfect as the medium for four armed ten foot tall Martians to be brought to life.

Meanwhile, I’ve gotten the ,a href=”http://color-your-own.com”>coloring books organized and sent off to the magic software man who also happens to run eBook Connections, an ebook store. I am eagerly anticipating their return and also trying to figure out how I’m going to be selling them.

Here at home we’ve had some rather distressing news about my hubby’s health. We are still pending more information before any big decisions or changes can be made but it seems likely that there will be some changes. We are trying to look at it all in a positive light and it just might turn out that way. Who knows? We don’t yet – not until next week.

I’m off to do some dishes and then settle in to the tedious job of updating the coloring pages site one page at a time. HoHum.

O – I added a new original short fairy tale at Demented-pixie.com as well as another of the Victorian age short stories over at Foovay’s Floozies. As life settles into a more humdrum routine again after the holidays, I’m sure I’ll start getting more of the fiction blogs going properly.

I also created a new Squidoo lens that I hope will save bloggers, crafters, artists, webdesigners and other folks like me a lot of wasted time Public Domain Clipart has all my personal favorite sources for public domain clipart that you can use.

That pretty well catches us up!

I want your opinion

I really want your input. I’ve got the images together to create the coloring books from Color-Your-Own.com. Several subjects have just 10 – 20 pages, others like dogs and horses have almost 100. I went and looked at PayPal and they charge 30 cents per transaction. I would have to charge at least $1 even for small coloring books of 20 pages or so. Would you buy that? Or would you rather just have the big one with all the images for $5 or so. After all, it’s digital, you could just print out the pages you wanted. But if you only WANTED birds, maybe you’d rather pay $1 and only have the birds?

I can’t decide. You tell me what you want. Please?
